Healing Potion Capacity

How many Healing Healing Potions can you have?

In Diablo 4 you can have up to 10 Healing Potions.

In the beggining, your journey starts with 4 Healing Potions. Progressing through the game will make it possible for you to hold up to 10 Healing Potions.

How to carry more Potions in Inventory?

Potion capacity can be upgraded with the Renown System. Reach second tier of Renown in each area of the map to earn 1 extra potion. Renown can be increased by completing Side Quests and Strongholds, exploring areas, finding Waypoints and Altars of Lilith.

Upgrading Potions

How to Upgrade Healing Potions?

Like many other things in Diablo 4, higher level means overall better gear and items, this includes Potions too.

Each player begins with a Weak Healing Potion and every ten levels you unlock better Potions starting with the Tiny Healing Potion.

To upgrade Potions you need gold and certain other resources like Gallowvine, Biteberry, Crushed Beast Bones, etc. that can be looted in the wild by defeating enemies or collecting flowers.

Upgrade Potion break points:

  • Level 1 - Weak Healing Potion

  • Level 10 - Tiny Healing Potion

  • Level 20 - Minor Healing Potion

  • Level 30 - Light Healing Potion

  • Level 45 - Moderate Healing Potion

  • Level 60 - Strong Healing Potion

  • Level 70 - Greater Healing Potion

  • Level 80 - Major Healing Potion

  • Level 90 - Superior Healing Potion

If you are ready to upgrade Healing Potions, you need to visit the Alchemist NPC marked with a large cup/goblet icon on the map. The game introduces you to Alchemy with a quest at level 10.

Resources Needed to Upgrade

Where to find and farm Crushed Beast Bones

The first few Ranks will be straight forward and easy to upgrade, but to get the 4th Upgrade at Level 30, the Light Healing Potion can be a bit tricky and difficult especially if you are playing alone.

To upgrade your Healing Potion at level 30 you are required to find 5x Crushed Beast Bones.

Crushed Beast Bones are very rare and can be found by defeating wild animals, beasts and werewolves.

Alternatively if you are looking for a guaranteed method. You can get 5x Crushed Beast Bones by defeating the Elite Boss: Gaspar Stillbian in the open world.

Where do Potions drop in Diablo 4?

There are a couple of ways to replenish your Potions back when you’re in need.

in Diablo 4 Potions can be found by defeating enemies, opening chests and destroying objects. Additionally Bosses also drop potions as you lower their health. If you look at any boss’s health bar you will notice red triangles pointed downward. (see photo below for more reference)

Once you drop their HP below the mark, one or more potions will drop.

Keep in mind that potions on the floor will disappear after a short amount of time so be sure to pick them up sooner rather than having nothing to heal up with later.

Other Rare Upgrading Resources

Starting from Level 70 you will be required to provide other rare materials. To upgrade to Greater, Major and Superior Healing Potions you will need:

  • Forgotten Soul — can be found only in Helltide Events.

  • Angelbreath — can be found by slaying enemies in Nightmare Dungeons.

  • Fiend Rose — can be found only in Helltide Events.
