Diablo 4 Drop Buffed for Grigoire Endgame Boss Summoning Material Living Steel
Before diving into the drop rate buff and where to find Living Steel, first we need to answer a couple of questions
“What is Living Steel in Diablo 4?”
Living Steel is a new material in Diablo 4 which players can use to summon the endgame boss Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint in the Hall of Penitent.
Grigoire the Galvanic Saint is one of the five brand new endgame bosses introduced to Diablo 4 in Season 2 Season of Blood that rewards you with Unique Items, as well as boss summoning material required to challenge Duriel the only available boss at the time of writing this article that rewards you with Uber Unique Items.
“How to summon Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint in Diablo?”
Enter the Hall of Penitent and interact with the altar. To summon Grigoire you will need to deposit Living Steel:
2 Living Steel in World Tier 3
5 Living Steel in World Tier 4
“Where is Hall of the Penintent in Diablo 4?”
The Hall of Penitent can be found in Dry Steppes and it’s highlighted on the map by a white Icon with a Skull and a Cage Door on it.
“Where to find Living Steel in Diablo 4?”
Living Steel can be found in Tortured Gift of Living Steel and all the other Helltide chests.
The Tortured Gift of Living Steel spawns multiple times during Helltide event. Similar to Mystery Chests, these chests will only appear on your map once you are near them.
*Living Steel chests locations reset every hour.
Note that:
just like Mystery Chests, only 2-3 Living Steel Chests will appear during any Helltide period.
when the hour changes (for example, from 12:59 PM to 13:00 PM), the current Living Steel Chests will disappear, and 2-3 new Living Steel Chests will spawn in other different locations.
if you opened all the available the Living Steel Chests during current Helltide, you can still get more after the reset! However, if the Helltide started at the exact hour mark the Chests will not reset.
Diablo 4 Living Steel Drop Rate got Buffed with Hotfix 3 on November 13th and the acquisition rate of Living Steel has been adjusted:
Living Steel Chest in World Tier 3: Increased from 1 to 2.
There is an additional chance for 1-2 extra Living Steels to drop.
Living Steel Chest in World Tier 4: Increased from 3 to 5.
There is an additional chance for 5 extra Living Steels to drop.
All other Helltide chests will additionally grant 1 Living Steel in World Tier 4.
With this hotfix update now we can find way more Living Steel to summon Grigoire.
This will ultimately lead to acquire more materials to summon Duriel which is basically the only endgame boss that matters because it drops Uber Unique Items.
